Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message may be retained long enough to respond and manage the communication. We keep it within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads, including:
- Page-view dates and times
- Your device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand traffic patterns, such as which pages are visited most and where sessions end. The results are reviewed in aggregate. You can block cookies through browser controls, although doing so may change how some site features work.
What We Do With This Data
Collected information is used only to operate, measure, and support the site and its connected services. Those uses include:
- Routing a query to the search partner selected by the visitor
- Maintaining site availability and page speed
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Measuring which Stonewall County resources are useful
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site publishes general directions to original sources, including the Stonewall County Sheriff, combined District and County Clerk, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or used to build criminal-record profiles about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each partner controls how it processes, shares, and retains the query, so review its terms before using the tool.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Stonewall County offices, Texas agencies, court systems, legal resources, or commercial services. Once you leave this site, the destination's policy controls its collection and use of data. Read that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing takes place on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may nevertheless be available to:
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place ads on these pages
- Search providers that process the queries visitors submit
- Government or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
We use customary safeguards for the information under our control. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access or another breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide rights concerning personal data. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, governs access to records held by Texas governmental bodies, not the private visitor data held by this site. Government Code Chapter 411 separately limits access to and dissemination of Texas criminal-history record information. Under our own data practices, you may:
- Request a copy of personal information we retain about you
- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Opt out of certain processing where that option applies
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as our practices or legal obligations change. A revised version becomes available on this page and carries an updated effective date.
Effective date: August 10, 2026
